![]() ![]() While six blades might seem a little excessive, after using the blade for a week, I found that one swipe with the blade was sufficient to leave my skin smooth and stubble free. I found it more comfortable to hold than Gillette’s and Schick’s high-end models because of the weight of the razor. Manufactured from heavy-weight aluminum with a rubberized grip, it’s solid and well designed, fitting perfectly in your hand. When I first picked up Dollar Shave Club’s “The Executive,” which features six blades (their most expensive blade), I was extremely impressed. While some brand's products don't warrant a full-time subscription sign up, in the case of Dollar Shave Club, this method was incredibly effective - the products are great! Offering more product for less at the beginning of a subscription is a popular marketing strategy to get people to sign up and use a brand's products. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter,' a one oz bottle of 'Wanderer Calming Body Cleanser,' and three packs of 'One Wipe Charlies.' The Starter Kit sells for just $5, which is a great value for the price, especially since the blades alone will run you $9/month in their standard subscription service. I was sent Dollar Shave Club’s 'Daily Essentials Starter Set,' which comes with one 'Executive' razor blade handle, a four pack of six-blade razor blades, a one oz bottle of 'Dr. However, after cracking open the economically sized box (I was used to Amazon’s cubic foot boxes filled with airbags and one tiny razor), I was pleasantly surprised. That being said, I came into this a little bit skeptical that DSC razors would live up to the positive feedback I had heard from friends and read in other online reviews. I’ve ordered glasses from Warby Parker and I’ve tested out several food delivery service options. I’m open to trying new products and I don't mind ordering products online. From Gillette’s Fusion Series (Note: Gilette has followed in Dollar Shave Club’s footsteps by creating a subscription option) to Schick’s Hydro 5, I’ve gone through a number of razors and grooming products, and I am by no means a loyalist to one specific brand. Let me preface this by saying, over the past 10 years I’ve tried nearly every razor on the market. Although, I’m quite sure all orders come similarly packaged. Therefore, I can’t provide any insight on what consumers can expect when receiving some of the products I got, which included 4X razor, beard oil, prep scrub, post shave cream, post shave dew and repair serum. The company was also generous to provide me some of its additional facial grooming products, though it was messengered over in a bag. Everything was nicely packed and there were no problems whatsoever. ![]() Carver’s Easy Shave Butter, a one oz bottle of Wanderer Calming Body Cleanser, and three packs of One Wipe Charlies.
